While I agree with you on the assessment on the overarching message of King, I do not agree on the methods in which she came to her conclusions. If we use apocryphal writings to prove something about a character in the bible, there is very little that cannot be proven. The Holy Spirit has been active in the life of the church and the formation of the cannon. There is no doubt that some of our interpretations are faulty, but looking at extra canonical sources is not the answer. We must have a reverence for the scriptures that the Holy Spirit has given us. If we walk away from the cannon of scripture we walk the dangerous path of having everything sacred as well as nothing.

Do you see any other ways to "open the floor" to everyone, that may or may not be during the actual worship service. Sometimes that's the most sacred of all things to tinker with.

"The higher up the economic chain you go I think the more difficult is to find these communities, only because of how “successfull” people buy into the concept of the individual over the community." How true, and how sad.

"When a person speaks up against an idea in a church and is marginalized than that is a form of coersion" How true. It's often hard to see it this way, it can often be guised under the term "leadership" but I think you're right it is what it is.

"Like always man’s war are not just, like God’s wars, they are economic based." It's interesting how this does seem to be at the "root of all evils." Good work this week.
